Road to Ramlee

Four close friends in a P.Ramlee tribute band goes in search of their own true voice, in hopes of becoming a legend. I have watched all the four episodes of this film, (or short film) and it is really nice. Of how you can do tributes to legends. Singing back their song, acting their dialogues, are not really tributes. Super trend when you can express in your own words. Episode 1: Published on 29 Jan 2015 A P.Ramlee tribute band is on the verge of their real break but tragedy strikes twice when they find out their lead singer is not only leaving the country but also falls ill two weeks before the big show. Should they replace him or go on without a lead singer? Episode 2: Published on 4 Feb 2015 The band begins its search to replace their lead singer after the audition flyer Adam designed on his GALAXY Note 4 goes viral, but doubts ensue at the packed audition. Will they find someone who can carry the flame that P.Ramlee ignited in time for the show?

Book Review: Gocoh by Wan Shafiq

The uproar of politics? Surely the food in my plate. Gocoh took place and scenario in Kelantan; the endless debate on green and blue people (You definitely knew this if you are Malaysian citizen). What touches me about this book? What I learnt that we always chose politic stands before religion. We are divided by our beliefs on who has more power, and we believe that we have power to determine who will be in heaven, and who don't. The scenario of racism, and finger-pointing. Too much in the society -- but it is there. Until someone is gone, or something got heat up, then we realize that we are divided. We are not uniting, despite of the oneMalaysia. A very good story line, a very classic spot of story. Definitely not wasting my time.

Penyatuan atau Perpisahan?

Semua gadis pasang mimpi Berjumpa putera idaman hati Bikin mereka jadi suri Lalu tercapai segala duniawi Semua gadis mahu bahagia Kerana senyuman milikan segala Tak pernah detik seketika Aturan Tuhan ada permainannya Mungkin karena cinta itu manis Lalu harus berakhir dengan mahligai Yang menyatukan Yang membahagiakan Namun cuma khayalan Apakah pernikahan cuma untuk sandiwara? Apakah penyatuan jiwa cuma sia-sia? Apakah sebenarnya mahu manusia? Apa, kita perlu bersatu kemudian berpisah kemudian balik lagi agar dapat mengerti? Entah, aku bingung.

Book Review: Tirani by Beb Sabariah

(This is the finest picture of the book that I can find on the web) The theme and story line is purely on women. Say it to me, I am feminist (grin) hewhewhew. This book is about a woman (Waheeda) who is obsessed to beauty, until she decides that she wants to do plastic surgery. She is tired of being mocked that she is ugly. At the same time, she was a managing a tourism company in Sarawak. Yes, it surprises me that the whole story line talked about Sarawak, and I finally realize the beauty of my own land. Because when I picked this book out of the shelves, I never thought that it took place in Sarawak, especially Kuching. Those roads that I am really familiar with. Towards the end of the story, her husband, Zahid left her because he thought that she was cheating on her. Waheeda struggled and became single mom. Brought up her daughter, Izzati until they met again. The struggle of women caught my eyes for this novel. I really want women to be look up as the one power that

Angin Kencang - Noh Salleh

Dalam silauan cahya membatas pandangan mata Namun jelas ku lihat kamu Biarpun ku sedar kau kian jauh Tinggalkan aku yang rapuh Angin kencang membawa kau Jauh ke sana kau hilang terus tanpa khabar Tidur malam ku mimpi indah ingat kamu ku rindui kamu Apa yang ku fikirkan inilah penyiksaan biarpun beribu tahun Dan namun kau sentiasa dihatiku menuai senyuman mu Angin kencang membawa kau Jauh ke sana kau hilang terus tanpa khabar Tidur malam ku mimpi indah ingat kamu ku merindui kamu Angin kencang membawa kau Jauh ke sana kau hilang terus tanpa khabar Tidur malam ku mimpi indah ingat kamu Angin kencang membawa kau Jauh ke sana kau hilang terus tanpa khabar Tidur malam ku mimpi indah ingat kamu Ku merindui kamu

Book Review: Seronok by Saat Omar (Buku FIXI)

(I believe what is more catchy is the book cover!) Thanks to CAIS UNIMAS, I finally can read this book. The theme of the story is about homosexual -- Amirul is falling for Bakar. For me, I've been looking for this type of story in Malaysian literature, too bad I started with this one (after all I always loved Fixi books). I am studying on transgender and their 'relatives' and being homophobic at the same time. Trying to understand why people don't accept them. I actually accepts them, but not allowing them continue being one. Because? It is wrong of course. However, nice story line, the composition and the maximum usage of the characters, I love them. Especially Amirul because he actually told everyone he is a gay, but not to his mother (how ironic!) And few critics on arts and films, it blends well and towards the ending ----- a gay can actually change to a normal guy. Why? Because woman belong to man, and so vice versa.
