Kuatkan Aku

Ada masa semuanya berjalan lancar untuk kita. Kita rasa, segala-galanya baik-baik sahaja.

Kuatkan aku, Ramadhan. Kuatkan aku, ya Allah.

Conversation: Mental Health and Self-care

We had a conversation in the car.
About mental health in workplace.
It was a very sensitive topic to me since I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Having bipolar means the depression is worst. The period is longer. Then BAMMMMMM mood swings, anger, eating disorder, grieve, anxiety came along.

But we were talking about it because I was a high-functioning person with bipolar disorder. I didn't get medication for more than two months now, and believe me, everyday that pass by is just me throwing my body to the wall and breaks like a piece of ceramic and pick myself back again with bare hands. It's hard.
I didn't get medication, I didn't get counselling, I didn't get psychotheraphy. I was struggling to do self-care, I was struggling to sleep or wake up. It was a battle everyday, and to think about it, I just started a career. I was marching in a battleground every morning.
Mental health in workplace has been recently a raised topic in Malaysia, since there is s…

My Bipolar Diary II: Prescription for Dummies (Part 2)

Yikes, I started this post with statistics which I myself is unhappy with. Living with bipolar disorder is not an easy thing /tsk
I found an article who writes about the struggle of treating bipolar disorder. Full article here, but I'll just pick the thing that matters:
"The problem with treating bipolar is that the only two choices of medications you can take are mood stabilizers and anti-psychotics. Also, when you experience bipolar, chances are that’s not your only problem. I also had to be on anti-anxiety medication and a sleep aid. And you have to find the perfect combination with the least amount of interactions. Some drugs can’t be mixed together."
I was given Olanzapine as my first prescription, together with Epilim. According to Drugs.com, Olanzapine is used for treating schizophrenia. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Olanzapine is an atypical antipsychotic. Exactly how it works is not known. It is thought to affect certain…

Astrology Freaks | September Sagittarius

One of my favourite website is Magdalene, a feminist website from Indonesia. I just recently followed them and they have really good content on South Asian feminism that is very related to Islamic principles as well.
So yeah, I was born on November 29th. My sign is Sagittarius.

Here's what Aisyah Llewellyn has written on September horoscopes:

Important dates:

5th September – Mercury goes direct

Mercury, planet of communication and technology, goes direct meaning that everything stops being hit by delays. Wait however for a few days before you buy electronic appliances or make big changes. Why? Mercury is still in the shadow period and Neptune is conjunct the Full Moon in Pisces. There is still a foggy feeling around and we won’t see the bigger picture. Leave big decisions until the middle or end of September.

19th September – New Moon in Virgo

We have a nice New Moon now in Virgo which brings opportunity to all of us. You could get a windfall at this time or hear good news regardi…
